Kick-Off Meeting - 10/26/04

Below are the notes that I took from our conversation. Please let me know if
there is anything you'd like to correct/add.

-------------------------------------------------------
MED SCHOOL, Anne-Caroline
-------------------------------------------------------

- There are PA's and Prof's who "dabble" in entrepreneurship, but there is no
formal outlet for these efforts.
-I made a note of the "DSUC" - but I can't recall what that stands for - Anne
Caroline, could you remind me?
-An opportunity exists for 3rd year students who are working on their thesis
project. They have more time at this stage.
-Dan Burnett did a 3rd year thesis related to entrepreneurship.
-Seth Blacksburg is a 2nd year MD/MBA who might be interested in this sort of
thing.
-Possible faculty sponsor - Barry Meyers

Next Steps:
-Contact Barry Meyers - find out if he'd be willing to serve as a Med School
Faculty Rep for DUNE
-Contact Dan Burnett and Seth Blacksburg and get their input and buy-in for
DUNE
-Establish communication channel into the med school for DUNE comminications,
and recruitment.
-What else?

-------------------------------------------------------
Public Policy - Steven
-------------------------------------------------------
-Not much entrep stuff going on, but there should be - especially with CASE
(Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship)
-Tony Brown's class is a good start for undergrads. Maybe some extension to
grad students is possible (either by Tony or another prof).
-Some Net Impact activity is a possible outlet for social entrepreneurship
-Master's projects are another opportunity.
-Faculty Sponsor: Steven, did we identify one?

Next Steps:
-Establish communication channel into Sanford for DUNE comminications, and
recruitment.
-Facilitate more coordination b/w CASE and Sanford.
-What else?
