A. PURPOSE OF THE VICE-CHAIR FOR PROJECTS

The CIERD Vice-Chair for projects will be responsible for coordinating the work of CIERD project leaders and facilitating internal CIERD communication. The role of the Vice Chair for Projects will incorporate secretarial and administrative functions as well as working with the Chair in defining and implementing the aims of the organization.

The Vice-Chair for Projects will work closely with the CIERD chair on identifying the big-picture goals for the group. The CIERD Vice-Chair for Projects will require good project management skills in order to ensure timely implementation of CIERD activities. The CIERD Vice-Chair for Projects will also be responsible for room reservations for CIERD executive committee and general meetings and will help schedule regular meetings.

 

B. ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the work of CIERD projects leaders
  • Plan and revise budgets for CIERD projects
  • Participate in active evaluation of the group's projects
  • Arrange room reservations CIERD executive committee and general meetings
  • Keep meeting minutes
  • Improve internal CIERD communications

 

C. QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE PROFILE

  • Possess good verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrate leadership, communication and teamwork abilities
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Ability to negotiate and influence
  • Willingness to develop new project to create a positive impact on students' education and research
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and draft clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Excellent organizational skills
